Abstract
Knowledge rich countries especially developing countries such as, Thailand, Philippines and Brazil etc. has taken substansive step by enacting sui generis law because this knowledge are particularly important in developing countries as their rich endowment of TK and biodiversity plays a critical role in their health care, food security, culture, relegion, identity, environment, trade and development.
Description
The purpose of this dissertation is to propagate the importance of traditional healing practices and discussing issues with regard to the protection of TK in Meghalaya. The protection mechanism of TK has received momentum with raising cases of pilferages. Lack of substansive protection of TK within the international and National forum, pilferage cases are ever increasing.
