Abstract
Refugee is a person who has been forced to leave their country or home, because there is a war or for political, relegious or social reasons. A person becomes refugee because circumstances are beyond that person's control and often poignant. He or she is left with no other option but to flee to some other nation as they suffer from human rights violations, socio-economic and political insecurity, civilwar or ethnic strife all these leading to fear of persecution. Refugee problems have assumed serious proportions involving pain, suffering and misery to millions of people around the world.
Description
The research is an attempt to analyse the concept of refugees and the historical background of refugees in India. The various International Instruments have been dealt elaborately. The domestic laws in India which are applicable in the context of refugees in India has been discussed.
